Girls Camp Out Weekend

GS Camp weekend at.. ironically.. Tahah Keeta Boy Scout Camp.  We combined with another GS troop and had Daisies through Cadettes.  The weather was perfect!

This is our troop in front of the Daisy's camper.

Cadette tent!

Our first activity was archery.

Mr. Bill did a great job with all us girls!

Our second activity was a high ropes course.  I volunteered to go first and chose the most challenging course and mom belayed all of us.

We were the fire tenders for the first night and made a very much appreciated warm fire!

We worked up a BIG appetite for dinner!

Cadettes were the hot breakfast makers for Sunday morning.  Gia and I flipped a lot of pancakes for our hungry group!

Our first Sunday morning adventure was canoeing.

Don't worry Grandma Ann and Hommie, we did not see any Alligators.

Our canoe included the three "Courageous Cadettes."

Our second adventure was a hike on the Mike Machek Trail around camp.  Unfortunately, we were not able to hike the full loop and had to detour because we ran into a lot of water on the trail.

Hammock time!

Sunday night dinner the Cadettes make a dump cake in our box oven.  It turned out pretty good.

Key West trip

We decided to head south to Key West, with all the cold weather on the east coast.  Our first stop of the morning was Dabi's first ship the Ingham which is a museum in Key West now.

Outside Dabi's stateroom.

In the mess hall.

Our second stop was the Key West Lighthouse.

There were these cool kid statues under the lighthouse that were very life-like.

And of course a picture from the Southernmost point.

After spending some time on the beach and at the pool we wrapped up the day with dessert at Kermit's Key West Lime Shoppe for Chocolate-Dipped Key Lime Pie on a stick!  YUMMMM!

On our way home we stopped at the Turtle Hospital on Marathon Key.  It was really neat!
