Seven Springs ski trip
Back to Seven Springs for our annual east coast ski trip with ALL our Grandparents!!!!

Library of Congress
We visited the Library of Congress to see the exhibition commemorating the 800th anniversary of the creation of the Magna Carta, the charter or liberties that England's King John granted his barons in 1215 in order to halt their rebellion and restore their allegiance to his throne. The copy on display here in DC is only one of four manuscript copies remaining that date to 1215. The Magna Carta symbolized liberty and the rule of law and its foundation has been used by the colonies to guarantee basic individual rights, in the Bill of Rights, and in the US Constitution. Pretty cool!

New Years Day ski trip
Not the best conditions, but it gave us an opportunity to test out our "new to us" gear.
Madison and Reid met us there. It was just like re-living our Tahoe trip last January together.

Jamestown, Virgnia
As a 4th grader in Virginia schools, Brooke has been learning about Virginia history. They just finished the section on Jamestown. It was awesome to spend the day in Jamestown with Hommie and Dabi during Christmas break and have our own private tour guide. Here we are checking out a long house in the Powhatan village.

Aboard the Susan Constant one of three ships that sailed from London to Jamestown with 105 passengers and 39 crew in 4 months. They arrived in Jamestown on May 13, 1607.

It's nice living back on the east coast - we get to spend Christmas with BOTH sets of grandparents!!! Here we are with Grandma Ann and Granddad at St. Pauls UMC for the family Christmas service a few days before Christmas.
