Today we drove 140 miles to find the perfect Christmas Tree. You might ask "don't you live in Oregon and aren't there evergreens in your yard?" My mom says "that's not the point!" It's the experience of the all day drive, four wheeling, 5000 trees to choose from and dragging a full grown tree half a mile, uphill.

We helped dad cut down the perfect tree with helpful advice like "cut faster," and "I thought it was supposed to be straight?"

We visited the South Jetty of the Columbia River Bar entrance just before the big storm hit tonight! My dad's ship made it home just in time. The jetty wall behind us is 20 feet high and the big waves are smashing right over top of it! This is the first big storm of the year and Dad took us on a trip to see how his buoys were doing.
